The Elite Pre Nationals Camp at Revolution Fencing Center is designed for one purpose:

To prepare serious national level epeeists to perform at their absolute best at Summer Nationals.

This is not a beginner camp.
This is not a general summer clinic.

This is a focused, high performance training environment built specifically for competitive athletes who want to sharpen, refine, and peak at the right time.

 

Who This Camp Is For

This camp is designed for competitors who are serious about performance and who meet the following requirements:

• Epee fencers ages 13 and up
• Athletes competing at the national level or higher
• Fencers preparing for National Championships
• Competitors serious about performance

Enrollment is limited to 30 athletes.
Applications are reviewed and approved to ensure the right competitive environment.

The Objective: Be Ready for Nationals

Training in June should look different than training in the fall.

At this stage of the season, the goal is not rebuilding foundations. The goal is refinement.

We focus on:

Tactical Preparation

• Reading opponents quickly
• Adjusting between periods
• Distance and tempo control
• Closing out tight matches
• Managing different referee tendencies
• Strategic pool fencing at high level events

Mental Preparation

• Competitive focus under pressure
• Emotional control during long events
• Reset routines between touches
• Bout management and momentum control
• Confidence and clarity late in DEs

Competitive Simulation

• Structured bouting with coaching feedback
• Situational fencing
• Pressure scenarios
• Tactical problem solving

The Coaching Staff

This camp brings together elite collegiate and international experience.

Athletes will train under coaches who understand championship environments at the NCAA, World Championship, and Olympic levels.

Ben Bratton

Head Coach, New York University

Head Coach, Revolution Fencing Center

Ben Bratton is the Head Coach of the NYU men’s and women’s fencing programs and one of the most respected figures in American epee.

As a competitor, Coach Bratton  was a three time NCAA All American and member of the United States National Team. He competed at multiple World Championships and established himself as one of the top American epeeists of his era.

At NYU, Coach Bratton has led significant program growth, guiding athletes to NCAA qualification and raising the competitive standard of the program. Ben was named the USFCA Division III Assistant Men’s 2021-22 Coach of the Year, and the USFCA Division III Men’s Coach of the Year in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.

His coaching emphasizes structure, tactical discipline, and intelligent bout construction. Athletes learn how to think through matches, manage momentum, and make high level decisions under pressure.

Dwight Smith

Head Coach, Long Island University

Dwight Smith is the Head Coach of the LIU fencing programs and a proven collegiate leader.

As a fencer, Coach Smith was a three time All American at Columbia University and a four time member of the United States National Team. He medaled at multiple national championships and trained as an Olympic alternate and training partner.

At LIU, Dwight has produced NCAA success, leading team development, attracting higher-calibre athletes, and supporting Mo Elsayed’s historic win in the 2025 Vancouver World Cup. 

Coach Smith brings an analytical and strategic approach to epee. He focuses on opponent pattern recognition, tactical adjustments, and building competitive resilience that translates directly to championship performance.

Jason Pryor

Olympian
Head Coach, Philadelphia Fencers Club

Coach Jason Pryor represented the United States at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

He is a multipletime Pan American medalist and one of the most accomplished modern American epeeists.

He brings world class competitive insight into:

• Tactical adaptability
• Championship preparation
• Performance under Olympic level pressure
• International competitive standards

Athletes benefit from Coach Pryor’s  experience competing and winning at the highest levels of the sport.

Yunior Reytor

2016 Pan American Champion

Yunior Reytor is a 2016 Pan American Champion and accomplished international competitor.

He brings firsthand experience winning major international events and understands what it takes to perform when the stakes are highest.

Coach Reytor specializes in:

• Precision distance control
• Tempo manipulation
• High pressure execution
• Finishing decisive touches

Coach Reytor will focus on translating elite level instincts into repeatable competitive performance

Daily Structure

Camp Dates: June 19 through June 22
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Lunch Break: Around 12:30 p.m.

10:00 a.m. – Dynamic Warm Up & Footwork
Movement preparation, agility, explosive actions, technical blade drills.

10:45 a.m. – Tactical Focus Session
Coach led lessons and structured drills centered around specific competitive themes.

12:30 p.m. – Lunch Break

1:15 p.m. – Directed Bouting
Competitive bouts with personalized coaching feedback and correction.

2:45 p.m. – Mental Performance & Strategy
Visualization, bout planning, emotional regulation, and decision making.

3:30 p.m. – High Intensity Situational Fencing
Pressure simulations and conditioned bouts.

4:15 p.m. – Reflection & Goal Review
Daily recap and strategic adjustments for Nationals.

Tuition & Registration

Full Camp Tuition: $600

Includes four full days of elite coaching, structured training, tactical refinement, and mental performance work.

Early Registration Discount

Register by March 15th and receive 20 percent off tuition.

Early Bird Price: $480

After March 15th, tuition returns to $600.

Enrollment is limited to 30 athletes and applications are reviewed and approved.
