FIGHT FOR LIFE SUNDAY, APRIL 21
Please join us for the social highlight of the season to come together and raise money for research, patients, and families affected by pancreatic cancer. Our connection to this serious illness is through one of our fencers, a longtime épée fencer and beloved part of the local competitive circuit, who beat pancreatic cancer and is joyfully back on the strip today. The mixed senior épée open welcomes all competitive fencers aged 13+, from newbies to nationally ranked épéeists, including coaches, refs, vets, college fencers, the youngest teens, and even foilists and sabrists.
With your participation you will be making an impact for patients and families affected by pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is one the deadliest with a 5-year survival rate of only 13%. Approximately 66,440 people in the U.S. alone in 2024 are expected to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We have partnered with Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health to raise funds and awareness with this event; proceeds will go to this mission that is near and dear to our hearts. We hope to see you all for a fun day of fencing for a great cause.
PAY REGULAR FEES (no charitable surcharge): proceeds will be donated to the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health, and for those who can’t make it on 4/21 or are moved to give more, there’s a special fencing friends link to donate without competing.
