Coach Doug  Tableman has worked with fencers at all levels, from high school leagues to international World Cups. A Prévôt-certified coach, he brings 15 years of coaching experience and a deeply personalized approach, tailoring training plans to each student’s unique strengths, goals, and learning style. He is committed to developing his students’ technical skills, tactical awareness, and mental resilience—both on and off the strip.

Doug takes pride in his students’ diverse achievements, from winning a National Championship and earning an A rating to stepping onto the strip for their first competition. He emphasizes a process-driven approach, guiding students to break down their goals into actionable steps that drive transformation.

A graduate of The College of William and Mary and St. John’s University, Doug understands the challenge of balancing rigorous academics with elite competition. Years later, this mindset has allowed him to remain an active competitor on the Division 1 National Circuit, in addition to coaching full-time. He maintains an A2025 rating and leverages his competitive edge and firsthand experience to connect with his students—not only as a mentor but as a fellow fencer.
